The ancient village of Olindo, called the place that now occupies the Ethnobotanical garden, was named by the Emperor to remind the lovers of the novel by the Italian Torquato Tasso, who named them Olindo and Sanfronia two of his most famous characters.This was the only property that Maximiliano de Habsburgo had in Mexico, because the others that occupied, belonged to the State, as they were the Imperial Palace, the suburban Villa of Chapultepec, and Jardin Borda.
